25 October - Legal & General, the third largest life insurance provider in the United Kingdom, announced very strong sales figures for 2006 to date. Sales at L&G rose more than 30% to ?1.29 billion.
Analysts' forecast for the group was at ?1.32 billion but shares in the company traded higher by over 2% based on the news, which was seen as positive.
Legal & General shares were at 142p during early trading session. The company is reliant on the UK market, with over 90% of their sales coming locally.
