June 5 - The fifth in a series of Green Zone locations was opened in
Plumstead last week, as a joint venture between one of South Africa's
largest insurance and investment companies, Old Mutual, and Nedbank.
The Green Zone concept aims to merge several banking, insurance and savings
services all under one roof for the customer's convenience.
In the past month four other Green Zones opened up in the Western Cape,
including Mutual Park in Pinelands, Tygervalley Center, N1 City Shopping
Center and the Link Center in Claremont.
The Managing Director of Old Mutual SA Retail Affluent said: "The goal of
the Green Zone concept is the synergies of various brands for broader
customer offerings, all from the same group."
The Managing Director of Nedbank Retail, Bank Services, Clive van Horen
said about the concept: "The Green Zone is part of a marketing principle of
'beneficial clustering', where brands benefit from being positioned next to
one another and generate greater customer attraction."
"Old Mutual and Nedbank clients can now, with confidence, come for
comprehensive financial advice and experience a one-stop-shop for all their
needs," added the Plumstead Green Zone branch manager, Steve Zimri. "They
can enjoy great service from experienced staff at Nedbank. The Green Zone
can ensure that their wealth creation needs as well as ordinary queries are
catered for."
Other Green Zone branches have been created outside the Western Cape
region, starting with the flagship store in Rosebank Johannesburg, in 2007.
The Green Zone concept is part of Old Mutual's continued commitment to
provide higher standards to its huge customer base, as well as its efforts
to simplify sometimes-daunting financial issues that are difficult for the
average man-in-the street to comprehend.
