March 2 - One of the greatest events on the sporting calendar this year is
Lance Armstrong's Lance for Life Tour that kicks off on March 9th.
Armstrong, seven time winner of the prestigious Tour de France will be
visiting the country to embark on an initiative to promote healthy living in
South Africa.

charity, to bring the Lance for Life Tour to the people.
Speaking about the tour, the Chief Executive Officer of the JAG Foundation,
Elana Meyer said: "We are committed to empowering South Africa's youth through
sport and the partnership with Discovery gives us the opportunity to increase
our reach and make an even greater impact within local communities."
The Lance for Life Tour will include visits to a South African school, an
exclusive banquet dinner, and even Armstrong's participation in the Cape Argus
Pick n Pay Cycle Tour.
The Chief Marketing Officer at Discovery, Hylton Kallner said: "Discovery's
core purpose is to make people healthier and to enhance and protect their lives.
In addition to raising funds for JAG, an important component of Lance's tour to
South Africa is also to promote healthy living which - like Discovery's own
Vitality awareness program - encourages people to improve their lives by making
healthy lifestyle changes."
"Lance is passionate about helping people prevent illness and reap the
rewards of healthy living and we are proud to support him in this aim," added
Kallner.
Even the City of Cape Town has stepped in to support this initiative and the
Head of Communications for the city, Pieter Cronje said: "We believe in a city
that creates opportunities for its people. The Discovery Lance for Life Tour
2010 enhances the work the JAG Foundation has done thus far and together we aim
