Discovery Goes Live with High-Tech Insurance System |

November 20 - This week Discovery, one of South Africa's leading financial services groups, has gone live with a group and individual insurance, pension and investment product administration system called iWORKS COMPASS, developed by international IT and software services firm, SunGard. Discovery chose iWORKS COMPASS as its sole strategic platform from which to support and administer a wide range of investment products being launched under one of its new companies, Discovery Invest. The objective of Discovery Invest is to build on the of the group's health insurance operation, Discovery Health as well as its life insurance operation, Discovery Life, by increasing its products and services to include annuity as well as retail investment products. iWORKS COMPASS has been designed to help support and enhance the quality of Discovery's client service levels, as well as help reduce overall operational costs, and reduce the time constraints associated with the launch of new service and product offerings.
